Cheaper calls between EU countries
From May 15, calling another country in the European Union costs a maximum of 19 cents per minute and sending a text message, 6 cents.
After the disappearance in 2017 of surcharges for calls from abroad, the new legislation limits the cost of calls and text messages to other EU countries.
The regulations are part of the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC), approved by the European Parliament on November 14. The objective of the digital market strategy in which this legislative package is framed is to ensure that all Europeans, regardless of where they are located or what their income is, can participate in the digital economy and society.
