Spain and Georgia "are today two democracies that work in favor of peace and cooperation from the two extremes of Europe, Spain has accompanied the significant development of Georgia since its independence and has supported - and continues to support - its sovereignty and territorial integrity" , according to an official note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

Spain reiterates "its firm support for Georgia's right to preserve its territorial integrity and effectively restore its full sovereignty over internationally recognized borders," the note added.

The Government of Spain wishes, finally, "that our two countries continue to work together to continue strengthening our excellent bilateral relations and fostering the shared values ​​that unite our respective peoples."
